Tesla Model 3, Model Y Get Nose Job In Artist Rendering

When it comes to developing attractive electric vehicles, few automakers rival the offerings from Tesla. From the early days of the Roadster and Model S, to the newly launched Model 3 and the upcoming Model Y, the Silicon Valley automaker has had the upper hand in the looks department.

Still, no vehicle is perfect. There are always design details that can be tweaked and improved. Similar to other electric vehicles, the Tesla Model S initially launched with a fake grille of sorts. The one on the Model S was certainly distinctive. It was a black, rounded oval that fans lovingly referred to as the "nose cone". After the reveal of the Model X, the Model S received an update to its front end to match the more refined look of the X front end. 

Tesla Model 3 is a bit snub-nosed.

The Model 3 launched in late 2017 with its own distinctive front end design. While the styling of the vehicle was praised from its reveal in 2016, one aspect was somewhat divisive. The Model 3 had a bit of a snub-nosed front end. And this design aesthetic carried over into the reveal of the Model Y in 2019.

In certain lighting situations, the Model Y almost appears to have puckered lips. Of course, this is only a minor nit-pick. It certainly didn't hurt the sky rocketing sales of the Model 3 in 2018. But many people would probably prefer a sleeker look if given the choice.

Just for fun, an engineer and Tesla fan named Richard decided to mock up his ideal upgrade to the Model 3 and Model Y. Using official production shots as a base, Richard sanded off the rough edges of the otherwise great looking cars.
