Rotterdam To Add 22 More Electric BYD e6 Taxis

Rotterdam Taxi Company (RTC), which in 2013 became the first operator in Europe to put into service BYD’s advanced pure electric taxi, the BYD e6, has this week indicated it is planning to add a further 22 taxis to its fleet.

Rotterdam Taxi Company (RTC), which began operating BYD e6 electric taxis in 2013 (the first to do so in Europe), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chinese manufacturer to extend its zero emission fleet from three to 25.

Rotterdam is one of several cities in which e6 are operated, (London, Brussels and Barcelona).

However, entering the European market isn't an easy task for an unknown brand and many potential customers seem to prefer doing extended trials before volume orders.
