- Ford dealers are now selling certified pre-owned EVs on Amazon Autos.

- The final step is to schedule a pick-up time and date at the local dealership.
Ford is now selling certified pre-owned vehicles on Amazon Autos, the American e-commerce giant’s car sales platform. The move effectively puts local dealers’ inventory on Amazon’s website, allowing customers to browse what’s available, finance their next vehicle and prepare some of the paperwork before scheduling a pick-up date at the dealership.
The two companies said that all of the certified pre-owned cars that are now up for sale on Amazon Autos are backed by Ford’s Blue Advantage warranties, which include roadside assistance. Customers can also check out the full service history online, as well as the final price.
Each type of vehicle is covered by a certain certification level. “EV Certified” cars get a 127-point inspection and a 12-month or 12,000-mile limited warranty (whichever comes first) covering more than 1,000 components. Gas-powered used Fords get are labeled (Gold Certified) and these undergo a 172-point inspection, while also receiving a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty for more than 1,000 components.
The third category is reserved for “Blue Certified” vehicles, which are sold by Ford dealers but may include vehicles for other brands, not just the blue oval automaker–think trade-ins. These cars come with just a 90-day or 4,000-mile limited warranty.
Whatever the certification level, all used cars bought from a participating Ford dealer come with a 14-day or 1,000-mile money-back guarantee covered under the Ford Blue Advantage program.
“The addition of Ford certified pre-owned vehicles to Amazon Autos represents an exciting expansion of our store, giving customers access to thousands of quality vehicles backed by Ford's comprehensive inspection and warranty programs, said Fan Jin, global leader of Amazon Autos. “By working with exceptional Ford dealers who share our commitment to customer service, we're creating a car buying experience that combines trusted vehicle certification with the convenience Amazon is known for. “
Currently, customers in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas can browse for certified pre-owned Ford vehicles on Amazon Autos, but the two companies said they will expand to other markets in the future. Besides acting as a sales platform for Ford dealers, Amazon Autos also hosts new car deals from Hyundai, as well as used vehicles from Hertz.
