‘Sad to See EV Incentives Disappearing’: Woman Sells Chevy BrightDrop Truck. Then She Reveals How Long It Takes to Charge
For $78,625, Chevy BrightDrop 400 owners get 159 miles on a fully-charged battery pack.
Car sales associate and TikTok user Carissa Beebe (@carissakbeebe) gave a recap of a car sale you don’t see everyday: a Chevy BrightDrop van. In a clip she shared, viewers get to see how large the van is in relation to a person standing right beside it. Beebe shows herself prepping the car for customer pick-up, including plugging the ride into charge.
BrightDrop Delivery
Beebe’s video begins with her recording herself sitting inside the capacious cargo EV. “BrightDrop is back in detail. It is getting picked up this afternoon. We’re doing financing in an hour,” she says after cracking open the car’s driver side door and exiting the vehicle. “So, finishing up my track seal and then right to BrightDrop.”
Following this, Beebe shows that the vehicle is parked in front of a charger, with an attached cable being fed from the terminal to the back of the car. “Charging it up, it takes about 30 minutes. Started about 10 minutes ago, so it should be done soon. And I made a goodie bag. I did two hats, two lunch boxes and two mugs because it is a husband and his wife and they have their own business.”
To close out her clip, the saleswoman says she enjoyed putting together a deal for this truck and that she hopes to be able to sell more commercial vehicles. In the caption for her post, Beebe urged folks interested in buying an EV to purchase one sooner than later, as “EV incentives [are] disappearing soon.”

Those looking for all-wheel drive will have to fork over an extra $2,600, and there’s also an option for a 20-module battery pack. A BrightDrop with a larger battery and dual-motor setup will bring its grand total up to $89,225 and a maximum 272-mile commuting range.

Those who want a BrightDrop with a bigger backside can opt for the 600, which starts at $80,125 and carries a 164-mile range. The dual motor, all-wheel drive 600 variant has identical full-battery mileage as its AWD extended battery counterpart at a $10k upcharge.
How Long Does It Take To Charge A BrightDrop?
According to the 2025 Chevy BrightDrop’s owner’s manual, the EV is outfitted with a DC Fast Charging CCS port. The manual recommends owners get their hands on an NACS-to-CCS adapter but cautions against using ones not approved or manufactured by GM.
Both GM Authority and users on this BrightDrop forum report that the 2025 400 and 600 BrightDrop models are outfitted with standard 11.5 kW charging modules. Moreover, drivers who want faster CCS charging times can shell out an extra $1,125 for a 19.2 kW unit. Individuals who buy the 2026 BrightDrop, however, will get the 19.2 kW piece as a standardized piece of equipment, and commuters who’d rather top off their vehicle more slowly will need to request the 11.5 kW component.
This promotional infographic sheet supplied by GM Envolve lists a slew of different charging times for the BrightDrop. Level 2 AC charging speeds with a 11.5 kW port on a Standard Range battery will pack 17 miles of usable driving every hour. GM writes that a nearly depleted battery with this setup will take around 9.5 hours to top off completely.
Conversely, a 19.2 kW port can give drivers 26 miles of range per every hour of charging and will take 6.2 hours to fully juice a battery that’s almost dead. When it comes to DC fast charging, the BrightDrop can put on 28 miles of range in just 10 minutes and get to 80% of its max range in just 45 minutes. However, if folks want to get that extra 20%, they’ll need to sit on the charger for an extra 50 minutes.
The Max Range, beefier battery BrightDrop will take 1 hour and 50 minutes to fully fast charge to 100%. Charging from low battery to 100% on the 11.5 kW unit takes 17 hours for the BrightDrop Max Range Battery and 10 hours on the 19.2 kW unit.
