Canada Plug In Electric Vehicle Sales May 2014 - Chevy Volt Still #1
Here are the plug in electric vehicle sales results for May 2014 in Canada.
In the US, the sales result for plug-in vehicles set a record in May. Did the same hold true for Canada?
Not quite, but May was a strong month for plug-in vehicle sales north of the border.
The Chevy Volt once again topped the Canadian plug-in electric vehicle sales chart with 177 sales in May.
Hot on the heels of the Volt was the Nissan LEAF with 101 sales, marking the first time ever that LEAF sales broke into triple digits.
Tesla Model S sales figures aren't available in Canada at this time. May results for the Model S will be officially available sometime next month. Known Tesla Model S sales figures for the year in Canada are as follows:
- January: 20
- February: 19
- March: 119
- April: 71
Aside from the Volt, LEAF and Model S, there are the others, all of which are consistently low-volume sellers:
- Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid: 10
- Mitsubishi i-MiEV: 8
- Cadillac ELR: 3
