Serviced Chevy Bolt EV And EUV Will Get ‘Certified’ Sticker
It should signal a return to normality for owners of these problematic electric vehicles.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV that have not had their battery replaced are a fire risk and, as a result, they are not allowed to park in certain places, and other restrictions apply to them too. However, with their new batteries installed by Chevrolet, owners of these vehicles should be able to return to a normal restriction-free EV ownership experience.
And you will be able to tell vehicles that have had their battery replaced by the window cling that Chevrolet will begin sending out to owners. This card will have to be placed in a place where it’s visible from the outside, in order to allow for its QR code to be scanned and validated.

According to Kevin Kelly, a Chevrolet spokesperson who commented on the matter,
We decided to make this cling available as the result of direct feedback from our owners.
These clings will be available to owners who have completed the software update or battery module replacements from the dealer.
This means that stickers will be sent to both owners of vehicles whose batteries have been physically replaced, as well as those whose vehicles have received the software update that limits the Bolt’s maximum charge to 80 percent. The new software can reportedly also detect faults within the battery and it is said to make electric Bolts as safe as any other electric vehicle.
The Chevy Bolt EV and EUV recall affected over 141,000 vehicles, but the manufacturer began replacing faulty battery packs free of charge starting in November of last year. Production of both models is currently stopped and it won’t be restarted until early March.
