Well, the story has now hit the mainstream media and there's some more details on how the process works.

As this Associated Press video shows, renting a Kandi EV in China seems to be a simple process.

Furthermore, watching the vending machine in action is something that never gets old.

Why the trick and complex vending machine setup?  The answer is that, in China's major cities, land is scarce.  So, if you're going to build, then you've got to build up.
