Renault Unveils Twizy Cargo Electric Delivery Vehicle
Renault is expanding the Twizy family with the introduction of Twizy Cargo; a new version designed for hauling goods. Instead of second seat for a passenger, Twizy Cargo has a large boot (180 l / 75 kg) and door make at the rear. The lockable door opens to 90°.
It seams to be a smart move for Renault because, to date, 60% of passenger Twizy's were purchased by companies.
"The ultimate urban vehicle and now an LCV, Twizy Cargo is aimed primarily at delivery or express firms, such as lift operators, postal services and emergency services. Highly visible, it can be fitted with decals and customized."
Twizy Cargo will be available in two trims - Cargo (80 kph/50 mph) and Cargo 45 (which have only 4 kW of power and a speed that's limited to 45 km/h/28 mph, but you can drive it without normal license). Technically, Twizy Cargo is the same as the passenger Twizy Life version.
Prices (excl. VAT) are set €6,750 ($8,839) for Cargo 45 and €7,350 ($9,625 US) for the Cargo version. As with all Twizys, both come without the battery pack that can be rented starting at €50 ($65.50) a month.
