‘Just Facts’: Woman Says All Cybertruck Owners Are the Same. Then She Reveals Why
A viral video hits on several stereotypes about owners of Tesla's pickup.
A woman ridiculed Cybertruck owners in a recent TikTok post, prompting others to pile on with their own Tesla hate. TikTok user Carly (@carlyatx) uploaded a viral clip where she demonstrates her impersonation of those who purchased the controversial electric vehicle.
“This is my impression if the Tesla Cybertruck was a person,” she says at the top of her video. Following this, she appears on camera wearing a pair of sunglasses and a backwards baseball cap. With her face pressed into the lens she says, “What’s up [expletive]? Working class, could you get out of the way, please?”
In her video, Carly hits on several Cybertruck stereotypes, including its owners’ snobby preference for hard drugs over alcohol, love of controversial Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and obsession with cryptocurrency.
“You should come in. I’ll do a little light show for you, and I’ll show you the button that makes me fart,” Carly quips at one point, highlighting one of the Easter eggs that have become synonymous with Tesla’s offerings.
At the end of her clip, she removes her hat and says, “Okay, hopefully that offended some people. Thanks so much, bye.”
Commenters Sound Off
Many who replied to Carly’s video believed that her depiction was spot on. “I know a dude who owns one of those monstrosities and you absolutely, 100% just nailed him,” one wrote.
Another shared a personal anecdote with someone else who bought the car. “I gave one the thumbs down in traffic the other day, and he straight up lost it. He got in the shoulder to pass me and floored it and almost rear ended someone. My guy, nobody forced you into that monstrosity,” they said.
Someone else wrote: “They may be offended, but they can’t argue with the accuracy. Thems just facts.”
There’s no shortage of documented Cybertruck hatred floating around the internet. In a 2024 article in The Autopian, owners of the car said they’ve experienced constant bullying. “Tesla Cybertruck owners are sick of getting the middle finger,” the outlet wrote.

Several drivers who purchased the car shared negative encounters they’ve endured. One owner said children are often smitten with the vehicle and that most of the ire is from adults who take issue with Musk. Someone else said that commuters will coal-roll them and that they’ve been flipped off, brake-checked and subjected to threats and “hate messages.”
Build Quality
Others said people making fun of their Cybertrucks have misconceptions about the vehicle’s quality—an assertion objected to by folks in this Cybertruck Owners Club forum post. “It is shocking how many people (who have no direct experience with Tesla or the Cybertruck) are convinced that it is a piece a junk,” one user on the site wrote.
It certainly doesn’t help when highly publicized stories regarding the Cybertruck make waves online. InsideEVs has reported on a few of these instances, such as when a Cybertruck tried trekking the Rubicon Trail only to be left stranded for three days after it came apart. The truck also failed to make it out of this torture test unscathed.
In another story, Edmunds waited years to finally test a Cybertruck, only to have its review unit break down mid-assessment. Even folks who are in love with their Cybertrucks have shared that their cars are breaking down “all of the time.”
