A Houston resident’s unconventional electric vehicle captured the internet’s attention and left viewers asking about the conventionality and the price point.

On Oct. 27th, TikTok user Tommy Clark (@tommy.clark) posted a video, which has amassed over 80,300 views as of Saturday, of the Club Car CRU being delivered to his home.

The vehicle resembles a modernized golf cart, with a futuristic, rounded frame and a spacious open-air cabin. The back seat area even includes a removable table, perfect for neighborhood coffee runs or weekend cruising.

“Whether it’s a coffee run, the golf course, or a neighborhood cruise — this thing turns heads everywhere it goes,” read the caption.

The vehicle caught the attention of the video’s viewers, with the comments overwhelmingly remarking on their interest. “I don’t want,” wrote one comment. “I NEED!!!!!!”

What Makes The Club Car CRU Unique?

While the vehicle resembles a high-end golf cart, the Club Car CRU is officially a street-legal neighborhood electric vehicle, also called a low-speed vehicle (LSV) under federal regulations. This means the vehicle is certified for operation on most roads with posted speed limits up to 35 mph.

Built by Club Car, a Georgia-based manufacturer best known for golf and utility carts, the CRU aims to bridge the gap between golf carts and compact EVs. Unlike traditional electric vehicles, the CRU is less focused on speed and range and more on open-air mobility.

The design includes wrap-around lounge seating, a panoramic roof, and an optional removable table in the rear — features that make it feel more like a mobile patio than a car. Its 25 mph top speed and standard 110-volt charging make it well-equipped for neighborhood errands, gated communities, or resort-style living.

What Is The Price Range For The Club Car Cru?

Many viewers were intrigued by the vehicle but wanted to know more about the price point.

“How much?” asked one user. “I need one.”

“Waaaait?” wrote another. “How much! Katy TX here!”

The Club Car CRU starts at around $28,000, according to Club Car’s official listings. Some regional dealers have been advertising slightly lower figures, with base models appearing around $25,000-$27,000 depending on the configuration, dealer fees, and optional lithium battery upgrades.

That price puts the CRU squarely in used-car territory, though it’s still far less expensive than most new electric vehicles.

What do you think?

For many buyers, the Club Car CRU represents a new category of local transportation that blends the eco-friendliness of electric vehicles with the laid-back appeal of golf carts. As cities and suburbs alike explore low-speed mobility options, vehicles like the CRU could become increasingly common sights on neighborhood streets.

The CRU’s viral moment shows there’s growing curiosity for street-legal EVs that prioritize fun as much as function.
