Woman Swaps 2014 Chevy Cruze For 2025 Tesla Model 3. Then She Shares Its Best Feature
"The problem is not going to be my car not having enough power or enough speed to get me out of a certain situation.”
After swapping her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze for a 2025 Tesla Model 3, a woman shared what she believes is her new vehicle’s best safety feature.
TikTok user Magen (@magendragonfruit) posted a video with her Tesla thoughts. “To me, the power and speed that it has behind it is a built-in safety feature,” Magen says. It might seem counterintuitive, but Magen asks viewers to give her a chance to explain. “As a responsible driver, this makes total sense,” she says.
Chevrolet Cruze Vs. Tesla Model 3
Magen explains that her 2014 Chevrolet Cruze struggled when it came to power. “You had to pedal to the metal if you needed to switch lanes,” she says. “Honestly, if you needed to do anything. If you’re at a stoplight, it took a lot for the car to actually power up and go.”
Not so with the Model 3. “There have been so many times within the past month and a half that I’ve owned it that people are trying to switch lanes … and literally all I have to do is press the gas a little bit and I’m already 50 feet in front of them,” Magen says.
She continues, “It makes me feel so safe that I know if I’m in a split-second situation where I have to make a decision, I can make that decision with confidence. The problem is not going to be my car not having enough power or enough speed to get me out of a certain situation.”
Autoweb tested a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze with a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that generated 138 horsepower. That is a far cry from the Model 3, which Tesla advertises as generating more than 500 horsepower. That power can take the Tesla from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

If you’d like to see the Model 3 in action, Along For The Ride on YouTube test drove one two years ago and could barely handle the acceleration in practice. “It’s like a roller coaster,” one of the passengers said.
Viewers React to the Tesla Model 3 ‘Safety’ Feature
Before closing her video, Magen reminds viewers that the electric vehicle tax credit is ending soon. “This is another reminder that if you’re thinking about ordering a tesla, you need to order it soon, before the tax credit goes away,” she said. “I saved $7,500. That helped tremendously.”
In the comments section, Tesla enthusiasts overwhelmingly agreed with Magen’s assessment of the Model 3’s capabilities.
“Yes,” wrote one person. “People don’t realize acceleration is just as important as deceleration. The car does wonders with both.”
“Agree,” said a second person. “Instant torque and super fun to drive.”
A third driver wrote, “I’ve had many fast cars: Porsche Cayenne Turbo, [BMW] M6, [BMW] M5, [Dodge] Challenger. The immediate usable speed in my Tesla is unparalleled.”
