An electric car’s driving range is probably the first thing a prospective buyer will look at when shopping around for a new battery-powered vehicle. It’s also one of the most important metrics we judge EVs by because range anxiety is still one of the biggest pain points for people who are looking to get a new EV for the first time, together with the high purchase price and worries about the charging experience.

Even though one study found that owners experience less range anxiety the more they drive their EVs and get more accustomed to them, knowing that your car is capable of covering more miles on a single charge than you need can be comforting, especially in the winter, when official range figures are almost sure to drop due to the lower temperatures that affect the chemistry of the battery.

So, here are the longest-range EVs available today in the United States, together with their associated price. The figures come straight from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or the manufacturers themselves, so they’re not the values that one might encounter in the real world, but they are a solid starting point.

Also, it’s worth noting that the EPA lists all the different versions of a single EV on its website. We combed through the data and only included the longest-range variants. This means that there are other trim levels of the same model that have less range and typically a smaller price tag, so consider that when reviewing the list below. The prices include the destination fee unless specified otherwise.

2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring: Motor1.com Star Awards

1. 2024 Lucid Air Grand Touring: 516 miles

  • Price: $109,900 (excluding destination)

The Grand Touring is just one step away from the top-of-the-line Air Sapphire in Lucid’s sedan lineup. While it doesn’t have the outrageous 1,234-horsepower output of the Sapphire, it takes the crown as the longest-range EV in the United States, with an EPA rating of 516 miles on a full charge when equipped with 19-inch wheels.

That said, it’s not like it’s short on power. Its dual-motor, all-wheel drive powertrain provides a healthy 819 hp, enabling a zero to 60 miles per hour sprint in just 3 seconds.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck with DC fast charger

2. 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV 4WT: 450 miles

  • Price: $79,800

The Silverado is Chevrolet’s first-ever electric pickup. It’s still in the production ramp-up phase, with fewer than 1,000 units having been delivered in 2023, but things are slowly improving on this front.

It’s also the longest-range electric pickup to be rated by the EPA, with a maximum driving distance of 450 miles on a full charge for the fleet-oriented 4WT version that goes for $79,800.

2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 exterior front three-quarter view

3. 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali 1: 440 miles

  • Price: $99,495

Based on the same platform as the Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Hummer EV pickup, the Sierra EV boasts a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, four-wheel steering and a pair of electric motors making 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque when the so-called Max Power mode is activated.

When it comes to charging, the beefy Sierra EV Denali 1 EV is capable of accepting up to 350 kW from a compatible fast charger, enabling it to add about 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. However, deliveries are yet to begin on a large scale, so you might have to wait a little longer to get one.

2025 Rivian R1T front three quarter

4. 2025 Rivian R1T Dual Max: 420 miles

  • Price: $83,900 (excluding destination)

The refreshed Rivian R1T ups the range figure from its predecessor by 10 miles thanks to a very long list of under-the-skin tweaks, including ditching almost two miles of internal wiring, reworking the entire manufacturing process and refining the software.

2025 Rivian R1S red

5. 2025 Rivian R1S Dual Max: 410 miles

  • Price: $89,900 (excluding destination)

The same improvements that were made to the R1T pickup also made their way to the seven-seater R1S SUV, leading to a 10-mile increase in range for the California-based EV maker’s flagship model.

Tesla Model S

6. 2024 Tesla Model S Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive: 402 miles

  • Price: $74,380

The EV that raised the bar for driving range when it was introduced back in 2012 is still going strong all these years later as one of the longest-range battery-powered cars available.

The most affordable Model is also the one that offers the longest driving distance on a full charge–405 miles–whereas the more expensive tri-motor Plaid has an estimated range of 359 miles.

2022 GMC Hummer EV: Motor1.com Star Awards

7. 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X pickup: 381 miles

  • Price: $106,945

The reborn Hummer, now in all-electric guise, comes with a massive, 24-module battery pack on the 3X trim level, enabling a driving range of up to 381 miles on a full charge. It also weighs over 9,000 pounds (or about 4.5 tons), making it one of the heaviest pickups in the United States, thanks in no small part to the roughly 210-kilowatt-hour battery pack.

2024 Tesla Model 3 (Highland) - LHD

8. 2024 Tesla Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive: 363 miles

  • Price: $43,880

This is the facelifted Model 3 "Highland" we have here, which superseded the previous entry-level sedan. It’s also a version that sometimes just disappears from the company’s online configurator, so keep an eye out for it if you want the longest-range Model 3.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Review

9. 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Long Range RWD: 361 miles

  • Price: $43,880

Just like the Tesla Model S, the cheapest Hyundai Ioniq 6 is also the one that offers the longest driving range. In this case, it’s 361 miles for the SE Long Range equipped with a single rear-mounted electric motor that makes 168 kilowatts (225 horsepower).

2023 Fisker Ocean One auctioned off on Cars&Bids 6

10. 2023 Fisker Ocean Extreme: 360 miles

  • Price: $66,547 excluding destination charge

As Fisker’s first and only all-electric series production model, the Ocean SUV delivers a pretty impressive 360 miles of driving on a full charge, 40 more than the Tesla Model Y that debuted four years ago. That said, the Fisker crossover in its most expensive and longest-range version has a significantly higher price than any of the Model Y variants.

The company behind it is also going through bankruptcy, so keep that in mind if you’re considering an Ocean EV, as spare parts and repairs could prove to be hard to get.

2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS City Edition exterior front three-quarter view

11. 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS 450+ sedan: 352 miles

  • Price: $105,550

The all-electric alternative to the iconic Mercedes-Benz S-Class is a good effort, range-wise, for the German luxury carmaker. Coincidentally, the longest-range version of the EQS sedan is also the most affordable, although we wouldn’t necessarily call an MSRP of over $100,000 affordable.

Elon Musk driving production candidate Tesla Cybertruck

12. 2024 Tesla Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive: 340 miles

  • Price: $79,990 excluding destination charge

The dual-motor version of Tesla's internet-famous electric pickup has the highest advertised range of the three variants that are shown on the company's website.

A bolt-in range extender battery that fits in the truck's bed is apparently in the works, but until it sees the light of day, this is the longest-range Cybertruck.

2023 Tesla Model X (Ultra Red color)

13. 2024 Tesla Model X: 335 miles

  • Price: $79,380

The Falcon door-sporting flagship electric SUV has lost some of its appeal over the years, which is evident when looking at the sales numbers, but its range game is still strong after almost a decade in existence.

2024 VinFast VF9 exterior front three-quarter view driving

14. 2024 VinFast VF9 Eco: 330 miles

  • Price: $69,800 excluding destination charge

Vietnamese automaker VinFast’s flagship EV, the VF9, manages to just slip under the top 10 longest-range electric cars in the United States, but at 330 miles in Eco trim, it’s still a respectable effort for a newcomer.

Chevrolet Blazer EV RS AMA Topshot

15. 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV RS RWD: 324 miles

  • Price: $58,790

The rear-wheel drive Blazer EV RS is based on General Motors’ Ultium platform and uses a 102 kWh battery pack that enables a driving range of up to 324 miles on a full charge. Speaking of charge, the zero-emissions Blazer can top up its batteries at up to 190 kW from a DC fast charger, while the onboard charger can accept up to 11.5 kW of power when connected to an AC source.

The Chevrolet Blazer EV RS RWD has a single, rear-mounted electric motor that makes 340 hp and 325 lb-ft.

2024 BMW i7 M70 xDrive

16. 2024 BMW i7 eDrive50: 321 miles

  • Price: $106,695

The i7 is to BMW’s lineup what the EQS is in Mercedes-Benz’s portfolio. In other words, it’s the all-electric alternative to the flagship 7 Series, and it looks like Mercedes managed to overtake its main German rival on the driving range front because the longest-range i7 can’t quite keep up with the EQS 450+, at least on paper.

Ford F-150 Lightning

17 (tie). 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Flash: 320 miles

  • Price: $70,090

Ford’s first-ever mass-market pickup truck is close to the Tesla Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive in terms of range–20 miles separate the two–but it’s also less expensive than Tesla’s angular truck.

2024 Polestar 2 First Drive Review

17 (tie). 2024 Polestar 2 Single Motor Long Range: 320 miles

  • Price; $51,300

Polestar’s four-door liftback EV has an 82-kWh battery in this particular version. It also comes with a rear-mounted electric motor that develops 299 hp and 361 pound-feet of torque, allowing the Chinese-made electric car to sprint from zero to 60 in 5.9 seconds.

2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E premium first drive.

17 (tie). 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range RWD: 320 miles

  • Price: $48,990

The 2024 Mustang Mach-E lineup is much simpler than before, with just four trim levels to choose from. The longest-range versions offer up to 320 miles of range thanks to a 91-kWh battery and a single, rear-mounter rear motor that makes 290 hp.

Tesla Model Y charging

17 (tie). 2024 Tesla Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive: 320 miles

Price: $46,380

The most popular EV in the world in 2023, the Tesla Model Y offers more range than the outgoing model and many other cars on this list for a rather attractive price.

Chevrolet Equinox EV

18. 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV: 319 miles

  • Price: $43,295

Chevy's new Equinox EV joins its big brother the Blazer EV as one of the affordable new American range kings. With 319 miles of range (in front-wheel-drive form; adding eAWD drops range to a still-good 285 miles) this is a good option for families looking to avoid any anxiety on their next road trip.

2025 Porsche Taycan

19 (tie). 2025 Porsche Taycan Performance Battery Plus: 318 miles

  • Price: $107,175

The refreshed Taycan comes with a myriad of improvements over the outgoing model, including faster charging speeds and more driving range. With the optional Performance Battery Plus that costs $5,780, the German sports electric sedan finally breaks the 300-mile mark on the EPA procedure.

BMW i4 eDrive40 (2024)

19 (tie). 2025 BMW i4 eDrive40 Gran Coupe: 318 miles

  • Price: $59,075

The German coupe-like four-door sedan is available in four powertrain options in the United States but the one that delivers the longest driving range for the 2025 model year is the eDrive40e. It’s powered by a single, rear-mounted electric motor that makes 335 hp and 317 lb-ft.

Polestar 3 First Drive

20. 2025 Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor: 315 miles

  • Price: $74,800

The first Polestar to be manufactured in the United States is also the brand’s first mid-size crossover. It promises to deliver over 300 miles of range on a full charge and a zero to 60 miles per hour sprint in 4.8 seconds in standard spec. It also has all-wheel drive and can DC fast charge at a rate of up to 250 kW for a 10 to 80% top-up in a little under 30 minutes.

2023 Cadillac Lyriq in black

21(tie). 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Rear-Wheel Drive: 314 miles

  • Price: $58,590

Cadillac’s Lyriq has been long in the making but the sales figures are showing that General Motors is finally stepping up its manufacturing game by churning out more and more Ultium-based EVs like the Lyriq. In rear-wheel drive guise, Cadillac’s first mass-market EV can travel up to 314 miles on a full charge, just like the next Ultium-based EV on this list.

2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV

21 (tie). 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X SUV: 314 miles

  • Price: $106,945

Unlike the pickup, the SUV version of the GMC Hummer EV only has room for a 20-module battery pack. Because of this, the maximum range of the massive American EV is 314 miles, compared to the pickup’s 381 miles.

2022 Kia EV6 Exterior First Drive Review

22. 2024 Kia EV6 Light Long Range RWD: 310 miles

  • Price: $47,325

The sporty Korean crossover has a maximum advertised driving range of 310 miles for its second most affordable version called the Light Long Range RWD, courtesy of a 77.4-kWh battery pack. The cheapest EV6 is about $3,000 less but only comes with a 58-kWh battery that enables a driving range of 232 miles.

2024 BMW iX

23. 2025 BMW iX xDrive50: 309 miles

  • Price: $88,425

BMW’s first proper all-electric SUV has looks that you either love or hate. It also has over 300 miles of advertised driving range in the xDrive50 version which comes with a dual-motor setup that’s good for 516 hp and a zero to 60 miles per hour sprint in 4.4 seconds.

2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron

24. 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron: 307 miles (estimated)

  • Price: TBD

The all-new Q6 e-tron is based on the same platform as the all-electric Porsche Macan. This means it was purpose-built to be a battery-powered car, and it shows. With up to 456 hp on tap and an advertised 10 to 80% recharge in just 21 minutes from a compatible DC fast charger, Audi’s mid-size crossover EV seems to have what it takes in an increasingly competitive market. However, it’s not yet on sale in the United States and we don’t know how much it will cost once it can be ordered.

EV9 Live Top

25 (tie). 2024 Kia EV9 Long Range RWD: 304 miles

  • Price: $60,695

A newcomer in the EV world, the Kia EV9 is touted as being the first nine-seater battery-powered SUV that also delivers more than adequate comfort, performance, and driving range.

Nissan Ariya first drive

25 (tie). 2024 Nissan Ariya Venture+ FWD 87 kWh: 304 miles

  • Price: $41,190 excluding destination charge

Nissan was one of the first mass-market automakers to sell an EV when it introduced the first-generation Leaf. But now the Japanese marque has set its sights on becoming a major player in the EV world, which means more and more battery-powered Nissans will soon be available.

But before that happens, there’s the Ariya crossover to consider, which is the first in the company’s new wave of zero-emissions vehicles.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5

26. 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 Long Range RWD: 303 miles

  • Price: $47,245

Generally considered to be one of the more refined competitors to the Tesla Model Y, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 crossover offers up to 303 miles on a full charge, which is 17 miles less than its American rival. The Ioniq 5 also comes in all-wheel drive form, but the range for those trims is even lower.

Polestar 4

27 (tie). 2024 Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor: 300 miles (projected)

  • Price: $56,300

Rather confusingly, the Polestar 4 is not bigger or more expensive than the Polestar 3. Instead, it slots between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in the Swedish-based automaker’s lineup.

It’s supposed to be the company’s breadmaker in an increasingly crowded crossover market, where it wants to stand out with sleek body lines and the absence of a rear window. Whether that will be to everybody’s taste or not remains to be seen.

2025 Cadillac Optiq

27 (tie). 2025 Cadillac Optiq Dual Motor AWD: 300 miles (GM estimated)

  • Price: $54,000 (estimated)

The Optiq is the equivalent of the Chevrolet Equinox EV in Cadillac’s lineup. In other words, an EV that’s smaller than a mid-size crossover, but one that comes with a healthy array of standard equipment, including all-wheel drive and GM’s Super Cruise advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) that enables hands-free driving on hundreds of thousands of miles of mapped highways in North America.

Bear in mind, however, that deliveries of the Optiq aren’t yet underway (that will happen toward the end of the year) and that pricing isn’t set in stone.

2024 Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron

27 (tie). 2024 Audi Q8 Sportback e-tron ultra quattro: 300 miles

  • Price: $78,995

The only electric Audi to break the 300-mile mark is the flagship Q8 Sportback e-tron, which needs the no-cost Ultra package to be able to achieve this range rating. The Ultra pack comes with smaller, 19-inch wheels (compared to the standard 20-inchers), low-rolling resistance summer tires, and a Sport air suspension system with efficiency programming.

Without the optional Ultra pack, the Q8 Sportback e-tron has an advertised range of 296 miles.
