One Tesla driver shared her shock and amusement that her vehicle abides by toilet-humor verbal commands. A TikToker who goes by Fly Girl (@flygirldeeezy) showed the voice prompt in action while seated inside of a Tesla Model S P85

“Y’all let me show something that I had seen on TeslaTok, or Tesla TikTok,” she says, waving her finger in front of the camera as she smiles. Following this, the video cuts to her recording the dash screen of her Tesla Model S. A circular bubble encasing a microphone pulses on the information cluster before her.

Following this, she loudly states a command for the Tesla to adhere to. “Open butt hole,” she says to the car. It’s an odd thing for someone to ask of a car, especially since they aren’t outfitted with gastrointestinal tracts. However, her crude language did indeed have an affect on the car’s performance.

That’s because when she changes her camera’s orientation to focus on the back of the car, something happens. The charger port cover mechanically lifts up.

At the end of the clip she can be seen exiting her vehicle, showing off the now bare port in sunlight as it readies for supercharging.

Tesla Whimsy

Under Elon Musk’s leadership, Tesla is largely credited for creating excitement and captivating modern consumers’ attention for electric vehicles. While certainly not history's first all-electric automaker, the brand’s success defied market expectations. This is especially true of the Model 3, which brought the EV maker’s offering to more buyers, competing with other entry-level luxury offerings.

This particular gag seems to have first been reported by outlets such as Gizmodo in 2021.

In 2019, analysts were stunned to see the American auto manufacturer outsell BMW, Audi, and Mercedes in their native country. Which is no small feat, given the track record, history, and brand recognition the aforementioned car makers have enjoyed for decades.

Where other EV models failed, Tesla thrived and managed to position itself in people’s minds as an aspirational car of the future. Furthermore, the brand didn’t just scream high-tech, especially compared to other vehicles that cost just as much or more. It was also sleek, which Musk cheekily alluded to with the manufacturer’s vehicle line-up. Its four main models, barring the Cybertruck, spell out: “S3XY.”

Musk wasn’t coy when it came to the acronym, either. He even stated the original name for the Model 3 was the Model E, but settled for a “l33t speak” abbreviation of the word “sexy.” This was due to Ford already holding a patent for an EV carrying the Model E name.

Lately, however, that "car of the future" image has been challenged by various controversies swirling around Musk himself, and the perceived lack of multiple new car models and updates as competing automakers bring out new EVs all the time.

Still, no one can deny that Tesla doesn't have a unique car culture of its own. And some of that is due to the fact that the brand continually tries new things with software and doesn't take itself too seriously.

More Tesla Jokes

Scatalogical humor can be found in other aspects of Tesla’s software, too. Drivers have the ability to change their blinking noises to fart sounds. In fact, commuters up front can toggle where said fart sounds off inside the Tesla’s cabin. Thus, framing other passengers up with a booming colon clap with the press of a button.

Tesla’s also sports a “Caraoke” mode, prompting those inside the vehicles to sing along with their favorite songs. The lyrics pop up on the car’s large infotainment screen and are highlighted in rhythm with the music’s cadence. This is a very popular feature in China.

Other Easter eggs include Santa Mode, which emits festive, holiday cheer noises throughout the car’s interior. Additionally, the graphic of one’s vehicle on the screen is changed to an animation of Santa Claus piloting his sleigh with the help of his trusted reindeer. All the while, bells ring in the background.

For more winter-themed fun, the car also features a “Romance Mode,” with a visual fireplace complete with crackling wood noises. Upon activating this option, passengers who tap the screen can prompt a sultry musical arrangement.

Tesla Voice Commands

However, the brand’s fun-and-games approach to its cars isn’t just for show,  but they’re blended with useful functionality. The automaker’s rides are equipped with a bevy of options drivers can toggle with a simple voice prompt. Folks can ask the ride to perform a Google search via the car’s built in web browser. Additionally, hitting the microphone button on one’s steering wheel can also show/hide a Tesla’s charging screen. Asking your Tesla to bring up the car’s owner’s manual can also be completed via voice command. As can opening the software settings menu, tire pressure, showing/hiding the odometer, or toggling the internet on and off.

Car controls, like adjusting windshield wiper speeds, enabling/disabling Sentry mode, and showing back-up camera footage on the infotainment screen.

What do you think?

Furthermore, other cheeky vocal prompts can flip up a Tesla’s charge port. Asking the car to “Open the Millennium Falcon” or “Open Flux Capacitor,” will provide identical results to Fly Girl’s viral gag.
