The Mazda Vision X-Coupe, a four-door plug-in hybrid with a two-rotor rotary engine, can run on carbon-neutral fuel from microalgae, producing 503 horsepower and offering a range of nearly 500 miles. Mazda’s innovative approach includes extracting oil from microalgae, which captures CO2, and using the byproduct for food or fertilizer. Additionally, Mazda is developing “Mazda Mobile Carbon Capture” technology to extract CO2 directly from exhausts, debuting in a super endurance race with the Mazda 55.
