Here's What's Good (And Bad) About Owning An Audi E-Tron GT

Here's what Tommy and Roman from TFL think after one month with Audi's coolest EV.

The Audi E-Tron GT is one of the best used EV bargains on the market. What was once a $120,000, Porsche-based electric flagship is now commonly spotted on used car lots for $45,000 or less. And though it may not be a range champ, the E-Tron GT's incredible driving dynamics, comfortable cabin, blistering charging rates, and stunning design make it well worth the cost.

That was what Tommy and Roman from TFLEV confirmed in their latest video. The YouTube channel purchased a used 2023 Audi E-Tron GT about a month ago, and the two hosts have finally spent enough time with the car to really understand how it is to live with.

Unsurprisingly, it's pretty lovely. They both agree that the E-Tron is surprisingly comfortable for everyday driving. It's plenty quick, too, with excellent fast-charging capability and super maneuverable rear-wheel steering. They both love the design inside and out, too.

It's not all rosy, though. The one problem with the E-Tron GT has always been its range. With only 240 miles of EPA range, and less in mountainous, cold Colorado, it requires a lot of charging. The rear seat is tiny, too, and the app is subpar compared to a Tesla. So if you're hoping this could be a practical Model 3 alternative, bear all of that in mind.

Me? I'd take the tradeoff. There's a dark grey E-Tron GT that parks outside a house in my neighborhood. Every time I walk my dog past it, I do a double take. It's just a lovely bit of design, with so much more personality than a Tesla Model S or even a Lucid Air.

What do you think?

It's not just the design, either. I think I'm so infatuated with my neighbor's car because I remember driving an E-Tron GT through the swooping scenery of Sunrise Highway, outside of San Diego. I remember how poised and effortless it was, like a Taycan, but dialed back ever so slightly to keep you from wrapping it around a tree. It felt grown up and silly all at once. I loved it.

So I want one. I don't currently have $45,000 to throw at a used sedan, but if I did, I'd buy one of these. And if you've got a mind to drop more on a Tesla Model 3 or a Mercedes CLA or anything new, I highly recommend test driving one of these.
