Watch Tesla Model X Race Hellcat, Porsche 996, Nissan GTR + More

Can a Ludicrous Tesla Model X leave all the competition in the dust?

It depends on the competition, right? Well, how about a Suzuki Hayabusa, Porsche 996 turbo, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, stock charger Hellcat, Cadillac CTS-V, Skyline R34 GTR, TRC Hellcat (826whp), Mclaren 720s, modified Daytona charger, and Nissan R35 GTR?

Yes, this Model X has a whole fleet of racers to challenge on this sunny day at the Palm Beach International Raceway. It’s a long day that continues into the evening hours. You’d think the Model X would get tired pretty quick.

As most of you know, many of the ICE cars that show up for these races can be heavily modified, and they don’t lose their steam as the day wears on. This is not the case for the battery-electric Tesla SUV, but it impresses nonetheless.

We think it’s safe to say that if you’re a racing buff, this YouTube channel, and more specifically, this set of rivalries is sure to make your day. That is … if you’re an electric car fan. We’d venture to guess that you probably wouldn’t be here if not.

Commenter c0c0asauce notes:

Tesla makes a good camera car but there’s nothing interesting about it as a race car. It’s common, it’s stock, and its only trick is 0-100. No effort involved in acquiring or maintaining the vehicle either. Just sign a lease.

Hmm … common (we think not). Stock (well, getting crazy acceleration out of a stock car SUV is a good thing, isn’t it?). Too bad the Model X’s only trick is zero-to-100-mph sprints (chances are those quiet, seamless 0-30, 0-60, and even 0-100-mph metrics are what one might appreciate and actually use in everyday driving, especially in a family car!).

No effort in acquiring or maintaining, huh? (We don’t know about you, but being able to get ahold of a crazy quick stock SUV like this and not having to worry about maintaining it just might be pretty dang cool). To each his own though …

The TRC invitational at Palm Beach International Raceway is back with more awesome matchups! This Tesla Model X has “ludicrous” mode ready to go and called out everyone! The insane Tesla SUV goes 0-60 in less than 3 seconds and tries its luck against a Suzuki Hayabusa, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, Skyline R34 GTR, Cadillac CTS-V, 826whp TRC Hellcat, Stock charger Hellcat, Modified daytona charger, Nissan R35 GTR, Porsche 996 turbo, and Mclaren 720s.

Dafuq is the obsession with Americans and drag racing? So boring.
Do some real racing, you know, on a track.
You can make nice videos too.

Agree… that drag racing is boooorrrrinnnggg…
Wake me when Tesla beats some one on a real race track preferably in a real race and not one lap…

More drag…….meh.

Traction issues galore on anything RWD.

Ooo another drag race 😴

I just watch for the Hayabusa matchup, remembering my time on a motorcycle.

Motorcycle are king of short drag since eternity.

The rider fail the start, fail the clutch, and misses shifts, and after all that mess beat the X.

I don’t think the X would have beat this machine with a better rider.

I don’t really expect any car to beat a racing cycle.

I am not really impressed with these, either 1) heavily modified, or 2) incredibly expensive, “race cars” with cramped seating for two, being able to A) barely keep up, or B) catching up only after having been left in the dust, by an unmodified 7-seater family SUV.

Race them on the Nurburgring.

Who wins?

LOL!

Where’s the road racing? Nürburgring would be a great match up.
