Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine – Live Images + Video From Geneva
Volvo brought to Geneva its whole family of all-new XC90s.
Among the different versions we find the plug-in T8 Twin Engine (white) and even more interesting T8 Twin Engine R-Design (blue).
The 2015 Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid already got its R-Design tweak earlier, so it’s not strange that XC90 sees this improved version too.
Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine is scheduled for launch in early 2016.
- 2-litre, 4-cylinder Drive-E engine on the front (318 hp and 400 Nm) with 8-speed automatic gearbox and electric motors on the rear (60 kW / 82 hp and 240 Nm)
- 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.9 seconds
- 9.2 kWh battery pack
- over 40 km / 25 miles of all-electric range (NEDC)
In Europe, prices of Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine are already available – for example in Germany begins from €64,458 + VAT for Momentum trim, while R-Design and Inscription is just slightly more expensive at nearly €67,800. After including 19% VAT the price stands at €77-80 grands.
In Canada, prices are announced – $75,000 for Inscription and $73,400 for R-Design.
In the US, there is still no information on pricing, but Volvo promises it’s coming stateside soon (in late 2015). At what price? We’re not sure.
