At the 2016 NAIAS, Volvo presented the all-new S90 in both conventional and plug-in hybrid version – S90 T8 Twin Engine. T8 is, as usual, in Inscription White.

T8 Twin Engine is top of the line S90, based on the XC90 T8 Twin Engine with the same drivetrain.

XC90 recently won the the 2016 North American Truck/Utility of the Year and the T8 is starting to appear on the U.S. market with 74 sales reported in December.

Quick specs:

  • 9.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with just 6.7 kWh usable capacity
  • expected 15 to 20 miles of all-electric range
  • AWD with 2.0-liter gasoline engine coupled with a crank-integrated starter generator and 8-speed automatic transmission for the front plus a 65 kW electric motor for the rear

Below we attached several photos of S90 T8, as well as great exterior and interior walkaround videos.

Is there a list of all the plug-ins at the NAIAS?

EVcarNut

Complicated , too many things to go wrong….Many More better Choices out there.. ,,.

mr. M

Many more? You mean there are TWO other cars that are also a EV and are equal in dimensions and style, that car being the model S and the s-class.

Ok, so now we got two big limousine PHEVs and one big limousine BEV. The market is full, stop producing more models. Thanks for watching, bye.

Leaf Owner
