Video: Watch Kandi’s EV Vending Machine in Action

The ultimate Kandi machine is here, or rather it’s China, but it’s operational now.

Kandi Machines Delivers the EV to You

Kandi Machines Delivers the EV to You

What you see in the video is the work of Chinese automaker Kandi Technologies and it’s the first-ever fully automated EV vending machine,

The purpose of the machine is to allow for storage of lots of EVs, while fitting into the smallest of footprints due to space restrictions in China’s major cities.

As Aaron Rockett, uploader of the video states:

“The Kandi public EV CarShare concept is based on Hangzhou’s bikeshare, the largest bikeshare in the world and the first of its kind in China. The bikeshare has since spread from Hangzhou to 19 Chinese cities including Shanghai and Beijing.”

“Kandi’s plan is to build with both Government and “outside” support, 750 of these garages in just the City of Hangzhou over the next four years through a 50-50 joint venture with Geely Automotive, China’s largest passenger automaker, which would require some 100,000 Kandi electric vehicles to stock them. This model is slated to spread to other cities and regions like Shanghai, Shandong, and Hainan. Two garages were just completed in Hangzhou over the past two months and another 18 are currently under construction as of two weeks ago.”

Could you imagine 750 of these EV vending machines in a single city?  We can’t, but then again we didn’t believe Kandi when it told us it was building the first one.  Well, the first one is done, so perhaps we should now start believing what Kandi says.

Yeah, but what do you do when your EV gets stuck against the glass on the way down?

Ridiculous comment.

This is a fantastic business concept.

It was a joke… relax.

But, seriously, what do you do?

You buy a 2nd one and hope it knocks the first one out.

You shake the machine until it falls out…

Stock has gone nuts in the last 5 days.

Another Stock I was a day late and a dollar short on.

From now on, it looks like all the innovation will be in China, since Wealth, and by extention, innovation, is created on the factory floor.

There was a ton of information in that video. I’m not sure I got it all. But one thing stuck out to me. In China, there is 1 billion MORE people, than in the USA. Holy crap, I conveniently forget that with so much emphasis put on GDP and auto sales.
I worry that most of the Energy produced in China is “dirty power”, but as we all know, that can be cleaned up easier than dirty cars. But, does anyone know what are the top two polluters in Chinese cities? I’ve been to SE Asia, and I swear that a majority of the pollution is from the billions of mopeds (with no catalytic converter) running around, with another huge chunk from coal and oil burning power and manufacturing plants.

Hello. I follow Kandi and hold some stock. This stock is just starting to take off — if the plans come to fruition, it could very well be $30-50+ this year. You still have time, but may want to catch up on DD sooner than later. There’s a private message board of investors that you can request access to: The video linked above is a bit older — only recently has the story spread in US news, starting late December. It started with sites like Treehugger and Forbes and spread from there. This story, along with the Shanghai announcement, opened a lot of eyes, and thus, sent the stock up. As of today, we’re awaiting announcement from the company of 10 garages completed. If that comes soon, the stock will shoot up even more. If not, it may lag for awhile, pending any other announcements. The car share is slowly but surely getting ramped up in Hangzhou (btw, this is an enormous city; pop 10+ million), and the company just recently announced the plans for Shanghai expansion (!). There’s also an article from last week in the Chinese press where Kandi’s CEO met with leaders and other EV makes… Read more »

Innovative company with a bright future. Imagine how big this stock will go with the implementation of the car share program into other major Chinese cities. 2014 will be a great year for Kandi but it’s really only the beginning.
