Watch Tesla Dashcam Capture Honda Smash Into Freeway Wall: Video

MAR 11 2019 BY ERIC LOVEDAY 12

Teslacam again captures a nasty wreck.

But the driver just keeps on driving as if nothing ever happened.

The standard dashcam feature on Teslas, called Teslacam, is really quite slick in that it makes use of cameras already on the car to record events.

More often than not, videos we see from Teslacam focus on wrongdoings on the road. Road rage is a common Teslacam theme, as are wrecks.

This particular wreck appears to show a drunk driver (the Tesla driver is convinced of this) in a Honda who smashes into the freeway wall. The driver continues on as if no crash occurred.

The wreck wasn’t just a slight bump either. The Honda climbs the freeway wall quite a bit before coming down and continuing on in a swerve here and there type of way.

These videos are useful in that some have been submitted to authorities to catch offenders. We’re not sure if that’s the case with this one yet, but there seems to be enough evidence here to make a solid case against the driver.

And then keeps going!

Watch the Honda in the Carpool Lane.

HATE drunk drivers! So ignorant and putting innocent lives at risk, for what, because you couldn’t call an Uber or a friend? PLEASE PEOPLE, be 10% smart and don’t drink then drive. Too many easy options are available to you. No excuse!

Fortunately, appears this one only has his own car to repair after slamming and climbing halfway up the wall on the freeway at 80 MPH, only to keep going! Still unable to hold a lane, weaving all over the place.

“…but there seems to be enough evidence here to make a solid case against the driver.”

On what charge? Drunk during? No way in hell is that enough evidence to charge the driver, much less convict him beyond a reasonable doubt, of drunk driving.

That freeway wall is better known as a Jersey barrier.

The Tesla driver is a doofus for pulling up alongside of the allegedly drunk driver after witnessing the alleged booze hound suddenly swerve into the Jersey barrier. WTF was the Tesla driver thinking? You can’t fix stupid. The Tesla driver should have hung back and called 911. It’s troubling that there is no mention in the story whether the Tesla driver actually called the police.

Throw him in Jail: Cell-Phone-While-Driving.
Get his phone records.

The very last thing I would be doing is getting close to that car, I’d fall back to be sure I was not his next guard rail, Tesla driver just asking for trouble.
Now you have to wonder is this another 6 month old video?

Yes, same here, looks like drunk driver.
I’d give that car 7 car lengths until he exited.

So what? Accidents happen. First it was drag racing videos – now Tesla dashcam videos from people wanting their 15 minutes. I doubt the video can prove anything in a court trial.

Tesla driver wanted more footage. I wouldn’t be anywhere near that driver after seeing what he/she did.
But the thing that doesn’t get posted enough, unless it involved a Tesla, are accidents that show ICE drivers can also be at fault.
As to whether or not the driver was drunk, maybe? Or maybe they nodded off and that’s when the car hit the barrier.

“The Honda climbs the freeway wall quite a bit before coming down and continuing on in a swerve here and there type of way.”

The design of the freeway walls (Jersey wall) is to redirect the car back into the lane. This article discusses this:

Can we pls stop having “articles” that only prove a Tesla camera can indeed capture video.

“But the driver just keeps on driving as if nothing ever happened.”

On a 5-lane highway, what else should they do? No other cars were involved. Getting out to look at it in the dark wouldn’t do much good.

As for dashcam videos, this one has *nothing* to do with EVs.

Gee, the 405. I wonder what accounts for that out of controller’s extraordinary driving abilities.

Great. More Tesla dashcam accident porn. Maybe InsideEV should have its own section to attract a new crowd of people outside the EV space. It’s disgusting to upload it to YouTube, but it’s even worse to syndicate it on a blog. It does not inform anyone and has nothing to do with the topic of your site. Think before you post.
