Video: Tesla Motors Truck – Here’s What’s Known

Approximately 2 weeks ago, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk mentioned that future Tesla truck.

There's a Reason Tesla Wants to do a Truck. This is Why.

There’s a Reason Tesla Wants to do a Truck. This is Why.

Though it wasn’t the first time Musk mentioned it, it was the first time the Ford F-150, America’s #1 selling vehicle, was drawn into the mix.

As expected, the media went nuts when Musk put the words Tesla, truck and F-150 together.

This video is mash up of how the media responded, but what’s of more interest to us is that this lone video basically brings together all of what Musk has stated in regards to this upcoming electric truck.  In this way, the video becomes a reference tool for use the next time that Musk comments on the truck, which we suspect will come sometime soon.

Tesla Ranchero???

No an El Camino.

Even Elon appears to suspect a refined straight translation of Model S to Truck, might suck ( S + Truck = Suck). As advanced as their Aerodynamics are at Tesla Motors, they would need to step up their work in regards to “Machodynamics”, for that particular market. 😉

The video lost credibility around the time the narrator said,
“Tesla motors has had a spectacular year, beating out all major car companies attempts at an electric vehicle…”
(Meanwhile the graphic is showing the 2012 and 2013 sales total for the Model S)

Yet, it is not the highest selling plug in or EV.

He could have been referring to the number of global awards the Model S has won, and somebody in the editing room threw that sales graphic up thinking it was germane.

Actually, it lost credibility earlier than that, when the female announcer said the pickup may be the next vehicle from Tesla. I think we’re all pretty sure the Model X will be next. Might they try to do the pickup before doing the Model E? The truck might be easier to engineer, and they could probably sell it for more than the Model E, and pushing the Model E back another year or two might help get the cost of batteries down more, making it easier to hit the $35k low-end price Musk wants.

Still want a Tesla spin on the classic VW bus.

A Tesla Microbus. With a few aerodynamic tweaks it might be pretty decent.
But while cute and romantic, would there be a mass market for them.. remember Tesla sucks as making low cost vehicles.

No! Bad Hippie Go away. There is a reason why VW is not making it any more.

Look up VW Bulli EV Concept…

The rendering is interesting. Did that come from Tesla?

I don’t know if a pretty truck will sell. Via may do better. Especially if Tesla is in the $70k range.

They might be getting a little ahead of themselves… get the X to market first…

I disagree dreaming big is how Tesla even existed to this point. They will achieve this goal.

Model X is on its way (2014). Model E will come then (2017) and the truck will probably be named Model T and sold in 2020. A roadster might also be in the picture and of course it will be called Model R…

It’s not a truck it is a pick-up or a Ute but not a truck.
