Video: Alke Pitches its Electric Vehicles as Explosion Proof, But There’s No Armor Here
An explosion-proof electric vehicle? Sure, why not?
With no explosive fuel on board, Alke is pitching its golf cart-like electrics as explosion-proof vehicles “oriented to market segments dealing with potentially hazardous environments like chemical and petrochemical industries, production sites of mineral oil and natural gas, mining, tunnel construction and maintenance and many other sectors.”
The marketing is rather creative, though to be honest, when we saw the words “explosion proof” we immediately thought it would be some sort of armored electric we were going to be gazing upon.
That’s certainly not the case here, as Alke electrics aren’t the least bit ready to go into military action.
Yes, Alke would succumb to an explosion, but its fuel won’t ignite and cause surrounding areas (full of those hazardous chemicals) to explode.
