Vermont Plug-In Vehicle Buyers Get $500 Instant Discount
4 Y BY ERIC LOVEDAY
Okay, so it’s not quite the $2,500 California offers as a rebate on the purchase or lease or a pure electric vehicle, but $500 off instantly sure sounds enticing to us.
“For those in the market for a new car this summer, now is the time to go electric. Drive Electric Vermont is offering an instant $500 off the purchase or lease of a new plug-in vehicle. There are 75 incentives available to Vermonters starting today, so it pays to act fast!”
The program kicked off a few days ago, but Vermonters don’t buy a ton of plug-in vehicles (only 600-ish are registered statewide), so we’re certain that some of the just 75 $500 instant rebates are still available.
Dave Roberts, Coordinator of Drive Electric Vermont, stated:
“With gas prices on the rise, it’s getting harder and harder for Vermonters to afford their daily commute. Electric vehicles are a cost effective, sustainable solution. These incentives will promote local businesses and help get costly gas guzzlers off our roads — while making progress towards Drive Electric Vermont’s primary goal: Helping Vermonters experience all the benefits of going electric for their next new car purchase.”
Here’s what prospective plug-in vehicle buyers who want to access a $500 incentive should do:
Visit one of the participating dealerships listed below and talk to a sales specialist about electric vehicle options. There are eight different models on the market in Vermont right now, in a wide range of prices and options. Buyers who select an eligible plug-in will receive an instant $500 price reduction at the point of purchase.
Participating dealerships each will have up to 7 incentive vouchers available:
