TUM CREATE unveiled its EVA electric taxi prototype at the recent Tokyo Motor Show.

What’s makes EVA most remarkable is its “15-minute super-fast charging as solution to EV range challenge.”

According to TUM CREATE, EVA serves as a “platform to showcase the results of the innovations and developments.”

TUM CEATE says EVA has a realistic range of up to 200 km.  That’s not extraordinary, but its 15-minute charging system is.  TUM CREATE doesn’t describe this system in detail, but does say it’s an industry benchmark, which we assume means that it charges even quicker than Tesla’s Supercharger.

EVA is a “new electric taxi for tropical mega cities, developed and constructed by two leading universities.”

EVA will eventually be introduced into the market in Singapore.

Some additional features specific to EVA are listed below:

  • Super-fast charging
  •   Individualized air-conditioning
  •   Interactive infotainment system
  •   Integrated child-seats

Check out that trick integrated child seat in the image on your right.  Now that’s what we call creative packaging for sure.

Absolutely monstrous A-pillar. Looks like a decent design functionally otherwise.

This is good news. Just keep raising the bar. The faster the charging, the longer the battery life, the more EV sales.

Nice, clean looking design. Not beautiful, but definitely not repulsive.

It almost borders on whimsical, when compared to VWs mainstream EV designs… “Conservativenugen”. 😉
