Tesla Supercharger Stations Get…Wait For It…Window Squeegees

Yes, it seems Tesla has finally gone back to basics, offering typical gas station amenities at Supercharger stations.

Last year we reported about Tesla’s new Mega Supercharger stations, which include food, a children’s play area, a lounge, restrooms, a coffee shop, and an outdoor space for families to relax, stretch out, and walk their pets. People joked about adding other features like a drive-in theater. Tesla hasn’t gone that far yet. Instead, the automaker is now just beginning to offer traditional gas station amenities like window squeegees.

Owners have requested such features for some time. Let’s face it, charging takes a while, so having these features available to occupy owners only makes sense. You might as well multitask while you wait. It would be strange for a Tesla owner to use a Supercharger station to charge their car and then have to head to a gas station to clean the windows and grab a snack.

A few owners Tweeted out photos of the new window squeegees at a various stations:

One of the owners shared that the Springfield, MO station provides free coffee. According to Electrek, owners have also requested compressors to fill up their tires. Of course, this is also common at many gas stations. CEO Musk recently Tweeted that the air pumps will be added at Supercharger stations as well.

No joke. Window squeegee and a trash can. I’ll live on the no mini-mart thing. Adding a store and an employee adds to much cost. However, a vending machine is not out of the question.

Yes and Tesla doesn’t even have to manage them, just lease out the space…

For the busier stations, how about a car wash – one friendly to Teslas. I would visit a local charger just for the car wash. And yes, not a free car wash.

Just as long as they don’t start installing gas pumps! 😉

This is going to completely disrupt the automotive refueling industry!

Vending machines maybe?

Edit: (oops echo..echo..)

I heard of this new invention called window cleaning solution and paper towels. You can buy them in the stores and store them in your car when one needs to clean ones windows. I even believe consumers can now buy their own squeegees.

Tesla claims they are squeezing (pun intended) waste out of every non-essential process yet they contradict themselves by doing silly things like this. Who is paying for this fixed and ongoing maintenance cost?

New Model 3 owners?

Changing the water and emptying the trash from a Tesla station does not cost them that much. They can do it perhaps once a day. The vending machines could pay for themselves.

I am surprising that it took this long. Window squeegee and tire air pump should be added. Vending machine with snacks and drinks should be available as well. Considering people are spending 20 mins to 30 mins there…

More PV awnings would be nice.

What will the EVANNEX “spin” be for this story? “Supercharging sites are finally giving you the amenity you need the most”…

“Tesla disrupts window cleaning, adds squeegees to superchargers”

It’s happening…

Bring more solar+battery combo’s to more Superchargers. It’s would shade the vehicles while charging, and provide fossil-free energy to the chargers.
