Tesla Supercharger Now Online in Burlington, North Carolina

“The first Supercharging station in North Carolina is open!”

Burlington Superchargers

Burlington Superchargers

“Stop by Burlington, NC to charge up, or just check it out!”

Says Tesla Motors via its Facebook page.  One more station for the company to add to their pretty fantastic interactive Supercharger dashboard.

This latest Supercharger station brings Tesla’s running tally to 27 in the US, though if you count the Milford and Darien, Connecticut stations as they should be counted (each site contains a Northbound and Southbound Supercharger for a total of 4, not 2 as Tesla says) then you’ll see that there actually exists 29 operational Supercharger sites in the US right now.

Tesla lists 6 Supercharger operational in Europe.

Below are the specific details for the North Carolina Supercharger:

looks like the Tesla website IT people have not got around to updating the supercharger map yet.

Nope…Tesla is rather slow on the map thingy most of the time.

…And the second Supercharger location in a town named Burlington!

The first one in Washington State was in the town of Burlington – is
this a trend?

– looks to map for all places Burlington in the USA….

Hey Tesla, there’s a Burlington MI if that’s your thang.

You know what’s funny; looking at the Tesla map, it looks like they are planning a charging station for Burlington MI in Winter 2013. LOL.

Burlington, IA would be a nice spot for me.

North Carolina is one of those states blocking Tesla from opening a store,

Texas already has a couple Superchargers too – is this like “IN YOUR FACE,
GUYS!”? So you buy your Tesla in another state, but dang-it, you can charge
it there!

Yep A Tea Party state

The location is great. It is in a huge shopping center with more than a dozen restaurants (and a movie theater) right off the interstate.

I hope they are putting up PV panels at all these charging stations.

Tesla is doing an amazing job with these superchargers, I wonder if there is a level of cars produced that would require them to shift to the fee-for-charge model?
