Tesla Sets Supercharger Record – Installs 10 In One Week

NOV 29 2014 BY ERIC LOVEDAY 7

During a one-week period in mid-November, Tesla installed 10 Superchargers in Europe.

For Tesla, this represents the new record for Supercharger installs over a 7-day period.

Europe, it seems, is the main focus for Supercharger growth at this point in time.

Europe is actually closing in on the U.S. now and could conceivably pass the United States at some point in the near future.

There are 135 in US now too.

According to Supercharge.info, in that same week (17-23 November) Tesla also opened 3 SCs in US and 2 in China.

The 15 total world-wide is also, by far, a record.

Second best world-wide: 11 (once or twice…)

This week: 10 world-wide.

300 world-wide should be reached around mid December.

Not bad!! 🙂

And Texas is still isolated from everwhere else 🙁

Yeah it seems like Tesla is focusing more on supercharger stations in Europe and China vs the US. I think they’re behind on all three for what they had expected by the end of 2014 but I think the U.S. Is furthest behind.

I drove from Oregon to Colorado, I had to put 900 extra miles to use their system or spend couple nights in camp grounds, and now, I want to go to Houston from Colorado Springs, and can’t do it. I think we need to take care of the good old USA, then others, just my own personal opinion…

It looks like they are trying to let Europe catch up to the US.

In my opinion the reason behind that is that they expect sales to be fairly equally divided between Europe, North America and Asia in the future and want the supercharger networks to be fairly divided too.

So I think Europe and the US networks will keep the same pace once they are leveled. And then maybe sprinting Asia to get leveled too.

I think the levelling and same pace adoptation will happen sometime around march/april 2015.
