Though Tesla jumped the gun by posting this Tweet on September 12th (technically before Summer 2015 officially ended), it’s still quite amazing to discover that five times more road trips were powered by Tesla’s Supercharger network in Summer 2015, as compared to Summer 2014.

The growth of the charging network, as well as additional Model S getting on the roads, are the reason behind the 5x increase.  According to Tesla, the Supercharger network grew to over 500 globally just over a month ago.

The increase in supercharger use had indeed such a profound effect that it turned the Earth’s oceans from gray in 2014 to blue in 2015 😉

Oh, I thought that was due to global warming. 😉

Summer in september… how strange.

That supercharger network remains a huge sales advantage for Tesla.

Yes it is a bit like the advantage of having a petrol station in comparison to having to rely on small bottles of gas sold here and there at some grocery stores.

Unless you live in Texas or NM… 😉

At least there are escapes East and North now.
