Tesla Pops Up In Spain With Two Temporary Stores, Permanent Stores Coming Soon

Tesla intends to open two permanent stores in Spain later this year – one in Barcelona and one in Madrid, which would also handle sales for customers from Portugal.

Spain Loves Tesla

Initially, the first Tesla store in Barcelona was just a pop-up store (which initially seemed to be permanent) – launched last December, it closes this month (July).

Tesla also has opened a temporary store (operating through the end of August) in the high-end/power purchasing El Corte Ingles shopping mall in Puerto Banus, which is visited by more than 50,000 people daily during the summer.

Tesla also opens similar seasonal stores in other countries, in regions where stores would not be sustainable entire year.

Spain originally was one of those markets where electric vehicle sales (and thus Tesla sales) were not high enough for straight justification need for store, but the two promised permanent stores in Barcelona and Madrid in the second half of the year indicate times are changing.

1,190 all-electric cars were registered in Spain in the first half of 2017 (which was up 40% year-over-year).

Tesla has installed more than 10 Supercharging stations, with 120 recharging points to date in Spain.

Looking forward to see them open!

I can’t believe there gona be one in Puerto Banus. I was there last year, nice place indeed. Great marina, nice restaurants and a lot of fun watching two man that were serving as buffet table in one of the clubs on the pier, on February 14. That got us really laughing for a week and I still have fun when I think about it. What was especially funny is that the people in the club were picking up slices of cheese, tomato, ham and prawns laying on the two man’s bodies and putting it on their boards as if everything was normal. We were both super laughing and a bit ashame for he two guys serving as living tables. What it takes to get an income!

Now I laugh whenever I ear the words Puerto Banus.

Otherwise, yes, the place is indeed affluent and a good pick for a Tesla store. I wonder if they will have two buffet table man at the opening? 🙂

There´s no public helps to buy electric cars in Spain, and Tesla dont have any Shop or the most important, technical center. But in june they sell 55 units of model S and X. More than Italy with 4 shops and 1 technical service.

Here in Spain lots of us are needed of more public helps and support for evs cars.
Good news al all!!
