Tesla Motors Dallas Gallery Grand Opening – Videos

Tesla Store

Texas treats Tesla Motors poorly due to its direct sales model, but this is an important market for the electric automaker and that’s why Tesla just opened a new gallery in Texas – in NorthPark, Dallas.

And as it turns out, many visitors came by to check out Tesla and the Model S at the store’s grand opening. And who knows, maybe more than a few of those will actually go outside of Texas to actually buy one (and then indirectly bring car a registered Model S in from another state).

“Tesla NorthPark brings our revolutionary retail concept to the Dallas area. The Gallery does not sell cars, but serves as a place to educate visitors about our groundbreaking electric vehicles.”

I think Tesla will do really well in TX. It will especially hot in Dallas, and I don’t mean the weather. I think they will eventually be No. 2 in the US. Hook ‘Em Horns.

Good call, yesterday I read in the Tesla forums that Dallas registrations have just passed those in any other city in Texas.

I hope they do well. I can see the Model X being especially favored, once released.

No one has to “go outside of Texas to actually buy one.” You just order it online, which means the sale technically takes place in California. The car is shipped with temporary California registration and the paperwork needed to register it in Texas. The buyer then goes to the local tax office to pay sales tax and registration, and get the license plates. Easiest car buying experience ever. Other than registering the car at the local tax office, for Texans it’s no different from buying anything else online.
