Tesla Model S Chases Lamborghini Gallardo – Video

Screen shot from video of the Model S about to chase the Lamborghini.

Quite interesting to see a Tesla Model S P85 have no issues whatsoever keeping up with a very loud Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo Supercar at an auto event in Monaco.

As you likely already know, the all electric Tesla Model S is quiet…very quiet. It’s quick too with its instant torque available at 0 rpm and a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds.

So, in this video you will hear the sounds the Gallardo Super Trofeo makes, as well as the near silence of the Model S.

In the first minute of the video, there are several shots of the Model S in action, showing how quiet it is in a crowded city.  You’ll see some unbelievably quick acceleration pulls with a view of the speedometer, which shows energy usage and regenerative braking.  That’s followed by the Model S chasing the Lamborghini.

Lastly, the parking sensors are a somewhat new option for the Model S.  You’ll see the parking sensors in action towards the end of this video.

this is a stupid video. first of all, they are driving in traffic, so there is a limit to how much “performance” driving that anyone could do. secondly, if you want to do the kind of jack rabbit acceleration that the driver in this video was doing, don’t expect to see anything near 265 miles of EV range.

This is 3 and a quarter minutes of my life I will never get back. A true waste of time. In the future, I will be sure to read the comment section before I waste my time viewing a video on this site.

I thought you could do maximum acceleration in stop and go traffic and get maximum fuel economy and range.

Dude faster than a f1 car riding his bike (in rush traffic).

    Stupid, stupid article.

Interesting how the Lambo-driver mimics an angry animal with the motor sounds. Thats so anoying, like a grumpy dinosaur… and probably almost as extinct as one.

makers or sports cars put a great deal of effort into tuning the exhaust systems of their vehicles to achieve a distinctive sound. it then becomes part of the cache of the vehicle and something that purchasers of the vehicle come to expect.

Sorry, that really wasn’t exciting at all…There was maybe one point where they both accelerated fast for more than a second. About 2:20 I think.

    lambo was quite annoying

Rear obstical detection down to the cm. Sweet! What a useful update. 🙂

I could have done this with my Twizy!

This is just a dumb video…

Even a Prius would be able to keep up in this kind of traffic.

If you want to say something, then look at how much attention those Lamborghini (yes, another White one popped out later) generated in the public. People are taking pictures at it and even the Police officer turned his head to check out the Lamborghini while almost NOBODY checked out the Tesla!!!!
