Tesla Model 3 Versus Model S – Rear Seat Comparison Video
How roomy are the rear seats in the Tesla Model 3?
YouTubers i1Tesla compare the rear-seat space in the Tesla Model 3 versus the Model S. This should give you a good indication of how much room there is, especially for tall people.
The Tesla Model S has a bit more elbow- and hip-room in the rear seats, since the area is wider. However, there’s less head- and shoulder-room back there.
As you can see in the video, as well as the pictures, his head touches the glass roof in the Model S. This is not true about the Model 3.
It’s also pointed out that the middle rear seat is the best choice for a taller person in the Model S. The middle seat drops down a bit lower and there’s more headroom.
Also, in the Model S outboard seats, the inside frame around the top of the rear windows protrudes inward quite a bit, which means that tall people may need to lean their head in toward the middle of the car to be comfortable.
In the Model 3, the frame is slimmer and the windows curve out more, so there’s more room beside your head and shoulders. Additionally, there’s about an extra inch-and-a-half of headroom regardless of which rear seat you choose.
