Tesla Model 3 Greeted By Big Crowd In Germany

MAY 5 2018 BY STEVEN LOVEDAY 8

This Tesla Model 3 makes a “surprise” visit to crash a party in Germany.

If you follow You You Xue’s Tesla Model 3 Road Trip on social media, you’re probably well aware that he’s now touring Europe in his Model 3. It seems he’s doing so much to Tesla’s disliking, but we’ve learned that You You does what You You wants to do. He’s had to overcome some pretty ridiculous situations when it comes to charging the car, but, nonetheless, he’s traveling the continent and seems to be enjoying himself fully.

We had a chance to hitch a short ride in Florida during his previous American tour. He went on to traverse the entire East Coast and travel into Canada on his way back to California via a northerly route. Since then, You You has been meticulously planning this European experience, which has now been underway for a number of days.

In regards to the situation in Germany, he explained that they had “accidentally stumbled” across an opening ceremony for a new Supercharger in the country. You You went on to say that Tesla didn’t seem too happy about their unannounced appearance. The Model 3 surely steered the patrons’ attention away from the party’s initial intentions. Below are the related post and a few videos of the event:

THERE IT IS! The first fully electric car that will be sold more than a million times by 2020! The Tesla Model 3

It was a fantastic event at Ladepark Hilden. Meeting of enthusiastic people to see the transition to sustainable transport accelerating and gaining momentum.

Range: 310 miles; 136/123 mpg-e. Still maintaining a long waiting list as production ramps up slowly, the new compact Tesla Model 3 sedan is a smaller and cheaper, but no less stylish, alternative, to the fledgling automaker’s popular Model S. This estimate is for a Model 3 with the “optional” (at $9,000) long-range battery, which is as of this writing still the only configuration available. The standard battery, which is expected to become available later in 2018, is estimated to run for 220 miles on a charge. Wähler distinction, Antwerp is in Belgium and the Ladepark Kreuz Hilden is in Germany. So they crashed a Party in Belgium and had a wonderful evening in Germany…

Tesla has not cornered the market on innovation and disruption. I think it’s funny that their own event was upstaged by their own vehicle. Musk is always talking about how ironic his mind is and people don’t see his humor.
Well..
Props to Yo-Yo, and his team.

what does it matter? It’s still one of their own cars causing a disruption in this video. Tesla still wins. lol. I mean, a model 3 in the flesh is more interesting than a supercharger or Model S/X which these people have seen dozens of times.

Shows the Germans will buy Model 3 in big numbers when they get the chance. The do not buy German cars because they are German, they buy them because they are the best. And yes, maybe they are a bit chauvinistic on that subject, but sales worldwide suggest they are not far wrong. That is now changing though, with Germany well behind in the switch to EVs. I think they will catch up, their own federal government is harassing the industry on the subject right now, and the big, big VW battery order suggests changes down the line. But meantime, Model 3 can be Germany’s best selling imported car in 2019 or 2020, if Tesla try hard and get the volumes up to 10k a week.

sadly most Germans don’t know much about EVS and still have a lot of preconceptions. Still I heard the other week that a driving school in my city uses now an E-Golf. So there’s hope.

Rob R, Germans buy German cars because they are German. I’ve been living in Germany for 50 years, and I know how they think. Sales of Diesel cars (VW, Audi, Mercedes) here is “down” to 39,3%, despite all the cheating. Make sense of that.
By the way, I was in Hilden to see You You and his Model 3, it really was a party. Our favorite bakery also provides me with free fast-charging for my Hyundai Ioniq EV, since I still haven’t gotten my own external charging source yet 🙂

Many people prefer their own countries’ brands. It’s no accident that French cars sell best in France, Italian cars (except the exotics) in Italy and Korean cars in Korea.

“Tesla Model 3 Greet d by Large a Crowd in Germany”

The headline is misleading. It implies the crowd showed up to see the Model 3, but the Model 3 showed up to the crowd that had assembled for something else.

This is not a knock on the Model 3 but on the article itself.
