The Speed Academy takes us to the third episode of its Lotus Evora conversion to electric drive, using a Tesla Model S electric motor, and two Chevrolet Volt battery packs.

Blue Lightning’s new powertrain essentially doubles the original power output of Evora (to some ≈460 hp), and now installed.

Next time hopefully we will see some first test drive reports, maybe with some short (ecological) burnouts.

Wow, somebody really should take a Lotus (preferable a Roadster), pull out the ICE, and put in an electric drivetrain and decent sized battery. I bet it would be a great first car for some nascent EV manufacturer and then they could dove-tail that into more mainstream offerings like a sedan, SUV, and…oh wait.


This is a whole new level.

Nah, all the self-appointed financial analysts agreed that such a business plan was doomed to fail in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
