TCI Transportation, the California-based leasing & renting company, placed one of the biggest reservation to date for the Tesla Semi at 50 units.

Together with previous public announcements (for at least 10 Semis or more), Tesla already received more than 500 reservations (probably a lot more if we included smaller placements and privately placed orders).

The base 300-mile version of the Semi starts at $150,000, while the longer-range 500-mile version starts from $180,000. The orders book must be filled with well over $100 million in cash already (a drop in the bucket compared to the billions expected).

The latest reservation by TCI Transportation is promising because various companies will be able to lease or rent the Tesla Semi, even if they didn’t decide to get in the reservation queue on time.

Where is Tesla going to build these?

There was an article with one of the purchasers that were told at the gigafactory. I can’t find the article with a quick search because of all the transport hits between the gigafactory and Fremont. Others know the article I’m referring to?

Here’s one of the articles but it was reported on other sites too:

Great. Keep it up!
