South Carolina Gets Its First Tesla Supercharger

Tesla Supercharger Count

Tesla Supercharger Count

Tesla’s latest Supercharger to come online is located in Santee, South Carolina.  This Supercharger brings the US count to 49.

This site features 6 charging stalls and is the first Tesla Supercharger in South Carolina.

With the addition of the Santee Supercharger, Model S owners can now almost complete an east coast trip from Florida to Maine.  All that’s needed is the Supercharger in Georgia to come online and perhaps two more Superchargers on the northern end of the East Coast corridor.

Unfortunately, those northern Superchargers aren’t expected to come online for awhile, as Tesla’s focus now seems to be on getting Superchargers in place for CEO Elon Musk’s coast to coast trip.

Is there any page where you can see where they are working on super chargers and how far the work has progressed?

I’m sure a lot of people have information about what’s happening locally.

Especially interested in the progress of European super chargers.

Thank you for replying. That one I know about and it’s really good since it also links each charger in progress to the forum to know more about how far gone it is.

Anyone has a map or so where more info is given about work in progress?

I have seen these official tesla pictures:

Which are detailed enough to almost make out the exact spots. But there would be nice with some info from the different spots and see the building progress.

I guess it’s much harder across many countries compared to just in one country.

Do we know if anyone has already done this; or currently what is the longest road trip taken in a Tesla?

Longest I’ve read about was Canada to Mexico on the west coast. But haven’t seen any cross country trip yet…. I’ll take that back, just encountered this where they took the Tesla from Orlando to Vancover and back.

That was the longest trip on Superchargers. One or more have gone coast to coast but obviously not only on Superchargers. There are threads about it on Tesla’s forum.

Here you can find a wonderful zoomable map with existing and under-construction Superchargers.

It doesn’t mention at what stage construction is, and it’s more rich in US than European info, usually (more contributions from the US community).
But it has nice features like routing tools, and the possibility to draw circles of a radius of your choice around Superchargers, or any location (e.g. your house) you might want to add.

Enjoy!

I will ask the members of that german forum to add info to the Tesla super chargers wiki. They had a lot of information and pictures of super chargers in construction so it will be a nice addition.

Per Google maps it’s 243 miles from Rocky Mount to Santee, so they still need the Lumberton SC as well as Savannah to complete I-95 south of New England. Lumberton is smack in the middle, 122miles from Rocky Mount and 121 from Santee.

Go Tesla Go!
