At the recent Tokyo Motor Show, Japanese company SIM-Drive showed off all the EVs that utilize its technology.

We see there E-RUNNER – this year Pikes Peak International Hill Climb winner in EV class. This is probably the only one without in-wheel motors, but still it has a SIM-Drive controller.

Next are the triplets – dark SIM-CEL, blue SIM-WIL and white SIM-LEI (the last one is so ugly that it’s better if you don’t search for photos of it). But SIM-CEL is almost as quick as a Tesla Model S. It will go 0-60 in less than 4.2 seconds with a top speed of over 110 mph. All thanks to four in-wheel motors with 260 kW of power and 850 Nm of torque.

The first car in the second photo is the SIM-DS3 concept, which is often referred to as DS3 Electrum.  It was shown in Paris a year ago by Citroen.

We see too that SIM-Drive already built a new toy prototype called SIM-86e. Sadly, we don’t see any specs listed for this. This is interesting sport car with 4 in-wheel motors.

“World premiere SIM-86e is a conversion EV of TOYOTA 86 with 4-motor on-board AWD system developed as a test bed of various advanced technologies like four-wheel independent control.”

Both, the SIM-CEL and the SIM-86e can be found in the videos below.
