Road and Track Lists Tesla Model S P85 in “13 Best Cars Under $100,000”
MAR 10 2014 BY ERIC LOVEDAY 7
Only one plug-in vehicle made Road and Track’s list of the “13 Best Cars Under $100,000” and, as expected, it’s the Tesla Model S.
The Tesla Model S P85 to be precise.
The “13 Best” list is largely dominated by German automakers, but Tesla scored a spot for the reasons outlined below by Road and Track:
“The Tesla Model S is a world-class, American-built car that just happens to be powered by electricity. In P85 form, it also hauls ass. The 85-kWh batteries and 310-kW motor produce 416 hp and gobs of torque. We were able to get one to 60 in 4.1 seconds. And if you pull a fuse or two, you can do a massive burnout.”

What, no video of the massive burnout? I for one am disappointed. I could watch that over and over again. π
“…is largely dominated by German automaker…” Which one? π
Congrats to all at Tesla. It will be exciting to see how the Model X carries itself with the motoring critics.
P85 Model X? AWD? Probably soiled underwear.
And The Tesla Model S just made Consumer Reports list of 2013 cars to avoid due to below average reliability.
Funny. I googled that and couldn’t find it among the 4 Jeeps, 2 Nissans, 3 Suzukis, and 1 each Volvo SUV, Smart for 2, Chevy Spark and Honda Civic.
Where’s the Model S on that list again?
I like the title βbest cars under 100000 $β, as if at that level the price still did matter. That is very funny. Kind of joke of the day.
