Every year Rinspeed unveils at the Geneva Motor Show anew concept car that demonstrates some new set of technologies, developed by suppliers involved in the projects.  Additionally, Rinspeed’s reveals typically show off some eye-catching designs.

This year, Rinspeed presented „Budii“, or BMW i3 after surgery.

There are a lot of new design elements on the exterior, including the straightened bottom line of the windows.

Doors are opened and closed electrically.  The robotic steering wheel changes position depending on what side of the vehicle the driver is located on. But maybe a driver isn’t needed at all, as there is an autonomous driving system implemented with a telescoping laser scanner on the roof.

Air suspension and smartphone / smartwatch connectivity are among many other features that, according to Rinspeed, indicate future trends.

It’s amazing how much better this looks than BMW’s version.

Removing the rear door kink and making in monochrome helps quite a bit.
