Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine sales in U.S. - May 2016

The Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid SUV has been available on the U.S. market for just over half a year (and a bit longer for Europe).

After peak deliveries of 226 in January for the US, sales are now approaching the 4% mark of total XC90 sales (full monthly sales of all US models can be found here), but it's too early to state at what level they will ultimately stabilize at - as inventories, even at this stage of the game, are still very tight.

We suspect it will settle at least a little higher, as the plug-in version can account for 15% or more of the model's sales in Europe, where the XC90 T8 routinely sells around 1,000 copies per month, with just over 5,000 sold through June 2016.  In 2015, just over 11,700 were sold.

Below is an interesting review from Autoblog's Senior Editor Greg Migliore who appreciated the Swedish design, luxury and technology of the XC90.

The XC90 T8 plug-in starts in the US at $68,100, but also qualifies for a $4,585 federal incentive.
