There is just something about electric cars that makes us wish they would also be offered in convertible trims – perhaps it has something to do with the allure of a quiet drive with the wind in your hair.

Recently, the fellows at GreenMotor UK asked the question “Where are all the electric car cabriolets?

And while it seems fairly obvious that ragtops are reserved for only the high volume and sports cars on the market today, they did a fine job of highlighting what ‘could be.’

Currently, the only factory available cabriolet is found on Daimler’s smart ED.

A Twizzy convertible would be so much fun. Especially the Twizzy F1 with the KERS.

Here’s some rendered pics of the Chevrolet Volt as a convertible.

In regards to the Leaf, sans roof…

“Look at dat a**!!!”

Please . . . someone build some of these. And don’t be afraid to leave a roll bar on it like the VW Cabrios.

So much more with less!
