Renault ZOE

Renault ZOE positively surprises us again in June.

Last month, the best selling electric Renault reached 641 registrations in France, which is one more month in a row for sales growth.

641 still misses the previous 764 result from June, but shows Renault is going in the right direction.

And for the very first time this year ZOE exceeds 60% market share for electric vehicle in France (last year’s record high in June was 85%). No other EV can dream of such deep market penetration in France.

ZOE to Clio ratio stands at 4.6%, which means that for every 1,000 Clio sold, Renault sold 46 ZOEs. Still not much, however Renault ZOE is back in the Top 100 models sold in France after six months of 2014 – #94 at 2,078 units.

Full report from France coming soon.

I think it’s were you have to rent the battery pack for more then the cost of gas that is killing this car’s sales. In that Nissan least week destroyed this idea that you need to lease a battery to replace it.

If the problem were the battery pack not being for sale instead of lease, you would have thought that the VW E-Up which is a similar size would do a lot better than it does.
It sold a miserable 14 units in France in June.
For those who read French:

BTW, Tesla sold 45, the same number as in Sweden with a fraction of the population.

The French aren’t keen on electric vehicles any more than the Germans it seems, even though they have massive incentives and cheap electricity and the Germans have neither.

France electric car sales are 50% higher per capita than in Germany. Additional lot of individual light delivering vehicles.
France is just suffering from record jobless rate with a terrible government and splitted oposition, keeping people away from long term future spendings.

Zoe has the most common charging system. You can find 22kW chargers very often and 43kW chargers are growing in numbers. No other EV supports up to 43kW AC, which can be installed for 2000 bucks (thanks to europes three-phase-system) while 50kW DC is more like 10.000.
So imho Zoe has a very appealing charger but the not so appealing battery rent…

Renault opened a new display on the Champs Elysées, the Zoe is in the back left. Maybe more people will know it exists when they can see it.

jobless rate in France : 9,5%
jobless rate in germany : 6,9%

spain and greece : 27% …3 time more than in France.

That’s why Spain and Greece isn’t buying electric cars either.

BTW you are not jobless in Germany when you have a Mini-Job up to 450€ per Month.

With 450€ reduced by health insurance etc. you are almost jobless but thats better fpr statistics. In the End more and more people in Germany are counted as poor but NOT JOBLESS !

hello zoe-driver…..a german said to me 2 months ago….germany is rich than you have no poor ^people in germany…..he said too all germans are driving bmw mercedes audi and porsche……LOL

Well, we have a livelong wellfare payment in case of unemployment, but it’s just enough for a small apartment, healthcare, cheap cloth and food. Definitely not enough for any sort of car.
