Renault EV Sales Up 23% Year-Over-Year In May to 1,788

1,788 electric vehicles were sold by Renault in May of this year (23% more than in May 2014) and after five months of 2015, sales exceed 8,100. Not a bad result, because in the previous year at this point Renault had 5,000 sales.

Excluding the Twizy, sales are moving up even quicker – by 31% to 1,568 cars and over 7,200 YTD.

Renault ZOE attracts most of our attention and here we found 58% higher sales in May of this year than in 2014.

In total, Renault sold over 1,220 (all the numbers are preliminary) last month and over 5,900 in five months.

ZOE has seen growth every month since August 2014 and is on track for some 15,000 sales in 2015.

Awesome news for Renault/Nissan alliance. Largest sellers of EVs in the world. Looking forward to them offering the EV drivetrain in more of their cars and especially light trucks.

Not in the US can a E-NV200 be purchased yet. I’m on my 3rd Leaf already and still waiting for the electric van i saw almost 5 years ago.

Mark, note that global com sales from the Zoe passed 25k in May (actually reached a bit over 26k)
