Renault’s preliminary sales data for April shows sturdy 21% growth in its electric car segment to 2,357 (or 17% growth including Twizy and total 2,536 sales).

April results are once again higher than a year ago for the 20th consecutive month.

Renault all-electric model breakdown:

  • Renault ZOE – 1,974 (up 13%)
  • Renault Kangoo Z.E. – 383 (up 51%)
  • Renault Twizy – 179 (down 20%)

ZOE as always takes majority of Renault EV sales.

The French company so far has sold over 74,000 electric cars (including 47,000 ZOEs) and over 91,500 EVs overall including the Twizy.

For 2016 year to day, 9,555 cars have been moved (just north of 10,000 including the Twizy)

Yeah! Twizay! 😉

Twizy is down 20%, not 80% (bug corrected).

I was just commenting on your wording 😉

“jsut north of 10,000 including the Twizay”

Maybe Twizy has a comeback in Germany this Year.

Renault dropped the prize by 2000€ until 31.08.2016 and it now seems likely that it gets the 4000€ incentive after all. (At least the european law it is based on includes the class L7E in which the Twizy is residing)

A few weeks ago you reported that 50,000 Zoe EVs had been sold. http://insideevs.com/renault-delivered-50000th-zoe/

This piece is reporting cum global sales of 47k Zoes. I guess the Renault press release was talking about 50k units produced, not sold. And delivering the 50,000th Zoe manufactured to a retail customer was just a marketing gimmick to make us believe that 50k were sold. Shame on Renault for the misinformation!

Monthly sales numbers since late 2012 are at over 47,000 total by the end of April. Latest numbers are always preliminary. Anyway there is 3000 gap between data on Renault site and 50,000 announcement.

From production to the customers can take 4-10 weeks, thats normal.

I am sure 91,500 smug French drivers siliently drifting past the long lines of motorists waiting for petrol will only make these numbers swell. I’m hopeful of a bumper end to May sales of EV’s in France.

No “a” in Twizy, just not jsut.
(jsut north of 10,000 including the Twizay)

Yea. 😉

After Spark ZOE was next very good EV. Where is improved battery version?
