Viziv 2 is the third Viziv concept from Subura (Viziv and Viziv Evolution).

This latest Viziv brings us closer to a production plug-in from the Japanese automaker.

Here are some details on Viziv 2:

  • AWD
  • 1.6-liter Boxer diesel
  • CVT trans
  • 3 electric motors (one up front paired with the diesel engine and two out back)
  • Torque vectoring
  • Lithium-ion battery

The Viziv 2 is only a concept, but it does foreshadow both Subaru’s design direction and its future plug-in hybrid powertain setup.

I love it.
Though we all know that concepts rarely resemble production versions, if they even get made 🙁

And I know people will be noting the ‘4 seats issue’, though it also has advantages if you don’t have kids. (skis down the middle, for example)

I love the rear sliding door, but I would like one where the front one slides forward.

I live in fear of ‘door zone’ (racing-biker)

I hope the next Outback gets this drivetrain and most of this styling.
