Plug-In Electric Car Sales In China Increased In March To 59,000

China continues its typical annual month-after-month path of growth in plug-in electric car sales, which culminates in December.

Sales in March increased 85% year-over-year to roughly 59,000 and around 122,000 for the first three months of 2018, which translates into 1.8% market share.

Plug-in electric car sales in China – March 2018

Last year’s best-selling model – the BAIC EC-Series – leads the Chinese market this year too with 7,818 sales in March and almost 20,000 for the year.

The next two models, the BYD Song PHEV and JAC iEV7 S/E, for now can only try to fight for 2nd place.

The highest volume foreign-brand models are Tesla Model X and BMW X1 PHEV.

1 million Plug-In sales in China in 2018.

That means that in the remaining 3 quarters there will have to be at least 878,000 more Plug-In sales. That’s almost 100,000 per month!!!

Not impossible, but also not very likely either, I guess.
