In the Electric Vehicles in 2013: a Progress Report released recently by the European Federation for Transport and Environment we found some additional insights into the European EV market.

According to the report, sales of plug-ins doubled in prior years from 22,000 in 2012 to almost 50,000 in 2013 (around 0.4% of all cars), and this year we are close to doubling again.

At the end of July, sales likely reached 50,000 units in Europe..

The best selling models in 2012 lost momentum in 2013 (see Opel Ampera or Peugeot Citroen iOn/C-zero as examples) and were replaced by newcomers like Renault ZOE, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or Volvo V60 Plug-in.

Those sales of the Volvo V60 PHEV are impressive.

This is NOT a cheap car.
In the UK it is over £51k, or £41,500 even not including VAT

This data is 8 months old already.

Really?
