Pro: Battery packaging keeps cabin space the same


Even though electrification wasn’t a priority when this generation of MINI was being designed in the early 2010s, engineers have managed to shoehorn the T-shaped 32.6 kWh battery pack into the vehicle without impinging on interior room. So the trunk still takes the same 211 liters and room for rear passengers is exactly the same as in any other three-door MINI (not to say it’s any good at carrying people in the back, but at least it isn’t any worse than ICE models).
