Despite a leak debacle, Zero gracefully dealt with having its new model unveiled ahead of time and moved its own launch date forward to catch the wave. Based on the SR/F streetfighter introduced last year, the SR/S is the first fully-faired sportbike by the Californian company.

According to Zero, the addition of a fairing improves the motorcycle’s aerodynamics and increases its range by 13 percent compared to the naked SR/F. The new sport tourer is rated at a range of 109 combined miles (136 miles if you add the optional Power Tank). It uses the same ZF75-10 electric motor and ZF14.4kWh lithium-ion battery as the SR/F and produces the same power figures at 110 horsepower and 140 lb-ft of torque. The fairing adds a $500 premium on the naked price and the new Zero SR/S will start at $19,995.
