While the Zero DS and DSR have been around for a while, for 2020, the company decided to give its road-oriented model the adventure treatment. The Black Forest Edition is pretty much an accessory package that adds a few travel slash adventure-friendly features including a set of aluminum panniers and top case, a windscreen, off-road footpegs, auxiliary light pods, and a headlight brace.
Considering the Black Forest Edition is a fully-loaded DSR, it uses the same 14.4 kWh battery and Z-Force 75-7R electric motor good for 46 horsepower and 78 lb-ft of torque. The combined range varies between 112 miles and 141 miles (with the Power Tank). The base price for the new Zero DSR Black Forest Edition starts at $18,895.
